Biography
Charles Holzhey mixes a distinct brand of absurdist humor, biting satire, photographic style, and conceptual madness into a truly unique artistic style. This alchemical concoction of style and content has pleased audiences across the nation. Charles has been featured in galleries, and museums in Seattle, New York, Los Angles, Denver, and throughout the Midwest. His work appears in the collections of some world-renowned art collectors, including the United States Department of Agriculture, and the United States Geological Service.
Charles is also the founder of the Forgotten Works, a non-profit organization created to support and encourage experimentation in the arts. The gallery specializes in showcasing new and emerging artists, often providing an outlet for types of art and artists that the more staid commercial galleries would never consider. He also offers working artist studios, which provide a nurturing environment for the development of artists working in all media.
Some consider Charles to be one of the freshest voices on the vanguard of art today. Others consider him to be symbolic of everything that is wrong with the world.
